The following steps show you how to setup
an email account in Outlook Express.
This example will setup the account for the following email
address Bruce_Springfield@mydomain.com.
Open Outlook Express and choose Accounts... from the
Tools menu.

From this window, click the Add button and select
Mail... from the popup menu
Type in your name (e.g. Bruce Springfield) in the Display
Name box
Select the I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use check box and type in the email address you're setting up in the E-mail
address box. Click the Next > button.
Select POP from the selection menu and type in the email
server (mail.mydomain.com) in both the Incoming mail (POP)
and Outgoing mail (SMTP)* boxes.
ATTENTION *
A large number of ISPs block port 25. By doing this they force their subscribers to use their provided SMTP servers to ensure that less SPAM is sent through their networks. Port 25 blocking is becoming an industry standard, so if you're experiencing any problem sending emails using mail.mydomain.com, please change the SMTP server to your ISP's provided SMTP server.
Type in your email address (e.g. Bruce_Springfield@mydomain.com) in the Account name box.
Enter the password for this mailbox in the Password
box and click Next >.
Click on Finish.
You will be able to retrieve your email from the mydomain.com
POP server.
If your are NOT using your ISP's
SMTP server, perform this additional step:
Choose Accounts... from the Tools menu.
Click on the Mail tab so all the mail accounts are
displayed, select the mail account you just created and click
on Properties.

Go to the Servers tab and check the My server
requires authentification box.
Click OK.
You will be able to send and receive messages using your newly
configured Outlook Express account.
